About Us
Established in 1987, Jambalaya is a literary arts magazine that highlights the creative talent of ASL high school students. Each issue features original writing and artwork, including poetry, short fiction, essays, photography, and visual art.

The magazine is staffed by more than 35 students who manage editing, design, and publication. Jambalaya is completely student-run, meaning students make the editorial decisions and shape every aspect of the final product.

Our goal is to give students a place to share their work and be part of a creative community. Jambalaya and its history are an important part of ASL’s literary and artistic life, and we continue to publish work that represents the talent and voices of our students.
